Venice

If there is a place that people need to see before they die, it is Venice, perhaps one of the most magical cities on earth. While the main sites, such as St. Mark’s Place, are important to see, the best part of Venice is the ability to wander and just take it in. As you walk through small passages, over bridges above canals, all the while hearing the gentle lap of the water, it is impossible not to be enchanted by the place.
2 Cinque Terre

The Cinque Terre is not so much one place, but five. A series of small towns along the Italian Riviera. One of the greatest benefits to this procession of towns is that it is near impossible to arrive here by car. Instead visitors come by train, boat or trail. Taking the trail that links the five towns is definitely the best way to see them, but any way you get here, you are sure to be amazed by the buildings clinging to the edge of cliffs in a mosaic of colour, reflected against the blues and greens of the Mediterranean.
3. Ephesus

Really three amazing places all in one. The area gives you the opportunity to see the cosmopolitan city of Naples and contrast that with the amazing and sobering Roman site of Pompeii, which was destroyed by the third site, Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. Tours of the Volcano can be organized, so long as it has not been recently active.

6. Malta

Malta

The Mediterranean weather is perfect for a relaxing cruise and there is no better place to do it than the seas around Malta. This small country is certainly more than one attraction but it is also a must see. Located in the strategic centre of the Mediterranean, has meant that Malta has had numerous rulers over the years. After taking in the sites spend some time unwinding with a coffee on Republic Street in Valletta.
Seeing all of these sites in one trip may be daunting, however once visited each of these attractions will remain a tangible memory of adventure and history.
