Great Spa Breaks for Some Posh Pampering

There’s nothing like a spa break to get you feeling fresh and rejuvenated, and the world is full of luxurious choices to suit every taste. Live like the stars and jet off to one of the world’s best spa resorts for a getaway you’ll never forget. Whether you prefer urban retreats or remote island breaks, treat yourself to some posh pampering with our pick of the

Mandarin Oriental, Miami

If you ever tire of partying and topping up your tan in the sunshine capital of the USA, book yourself in to the Mandarin Oriental for a spot of pampering and TLC. If you have the cash to splash, it’s well worth forking out £100 for a private room as you’ll enjoy amazing views over Biscayne Bay as you relax in the spa bath as well as any treatment you fancy from the on hand therapist. You can also stay at the hotel for around £120pp per night.

Riksgransen Alpine Spa, Sweden

The Arctic Circle is definitely an unusual holiday destination, but Riksgransen is worth braving the cold for. Here, at northern Europe’s only alpine spa, you can enjoy a Lappish Zen’ treatment  – cleansing, a spa soak and deep relaxation followed by a hot stone massage in a Lapp tent.

Polynesian Spa, New Zealand

New Zealand is known for its tranquil natural scenery, and its spas are no different! Polynesia Spa in Rotorua (North Island) is the perfect destination for anyone in need of a little TLC. Laze in the alkaline pools, enjoy a manuka honey therapy or enjoy an Aix massage which involves jets of warm water and coconut oil. Rotorua’s hot springs are even said to be able to cure arthritis in three months!

Taj Exotica, Goa

Just because you’re travelling with the family doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a luxury spa break too! Taj Exotica is a great choice as there’s a children’s pool and waterslide on site for them to enjoy. There’s also fun to be had on mountain bikes, at the pitch-and-putt course, a giant outdoor chess set, water volleyball and even elephants on the beach. That’s them taken care of then!

While the kids are in their element, you’ll love the hotel’s Ayurvedic centre which houses a therapeutic waterfall area as well as rose petal-filled outdoor baths. Room start from around the £185 and you’ll have to pay more for treatments, but you can save money on spa breaks.

The Ashram Spa, California

Of course, spa breaks aren’t just about relaxing! The exclusive Ashram Spa in the Santa Monica hills is where all of Hollywood’s rich and famous head to stay in shape, and is even known as Hollywood’s secret ‘get skinny spa. Minimum food and maximum exercise is what’s on the agenda here, so it’s probably best avoided if five hour long hikes, three hours of yoga, an hour long workout, an hour o swimming and an hour of dancing every single day doesn’t seem like your idea of fun. Did we mention it all kicks off at 6am too?
