If there’s one thing that students do well it is finding cheap accommodation almost anywhere they go. Students under 26 have many discounts all over Europe and one European capital that is the heaven of cheap accommodation is London. It is not a cheap town, we won’t lie to you, the food and transportation are expensive, so you must maintain a balance by finding cheap accommodation in London. The cheapest places you could stay at are hostels. They may not have a good reputation (with all those horror movies and all), but if you’re careful when choosing one, you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
Hostels generally have rooms with 6-12 beds, one kitchen and shared bathroom and shower facilities – they look a bit like dorm rooms, so for the seasoned student they are a great option. We’ve done a little research and found the top five cheap student hostels in London.

The common living room has a TV and comfy couches, the kitchen is equipped with everything you need to cook whatever it is you want and it only takes you 10 minutes to get to the King’s Cross Railway Station and to a great farmer’s market.
2. Clink78

Clink78 is probably the funkiest hostel in London. It is located in a former 19th century courthouse and it is a colorful and clean space. This one’s quite central as well and all you need to bring is your backpack – they provide you with clean linen and soaps.

In 2009 it was voted best budget hotel in London, so there isn’t much more we need to tell you about this one, except they have a great entertainment area with games and pool tables. If you’re willing to shell out a little bit more money, you can stay in your own private room.

A 15-minute walk from the Tate Modern will bring you to this great hostel. Reviewers call it the cleanest hostel in London, as it is only 6 months old.
5. Restup London

Another central hostel, Restup London is affordable, cheerful and modern. Remember to bring your own plug adapter!
